Quick Comparison

We visited over 15 digital artists and graphic designers at their studios in an attempt to find the best features of a quality and reliable drawing tablet.

Among the most common answers were a good screen size, responsive stylus pen and a strong and sturdy build.

With this information, we then tested 30 different models of graphics drawing tablets and came up with a good list.

The Simbans PiccassoTab Multi-Purpose Graphics Tablet is the best drawing tablet. It was simple to use and comes with a sturdy frame.

The HUION INSPIROY Q11 Digital Graphic Drawing Tablet came with the largest screen frame and offered the best arm movement for easy sketching.

    Simbans PiccassoTab Multi-Purpose Graphics Tablet

The first thing that caught our attention was the 10-inch screen. It is large and allowed plenty of arm movement.

We liked that we could use this tablet during our free time and watch entertainment and videos as well.

The images came out nicely as we found that the Simbans had very little drag on the stylus pen. This resulted in neat and accurate drawings.

However, we noticed that the sound from the inbuilt speakers wasn’t the best and to get the most of it, it required us to connect external speakers or headphones.

The charging display is not the most ideal as well since it at times doesn’t indicate whether the tablet is charging or not.

We also found that the Simbans runs on an older android version.

What this means was that we had to downloads a Chromecast app to be able to use it effectively.

    The Good
    • Large screen.
    • Effective when drawing.
    • Comfortable to use.
    The Bad
    • Runs on an older android version.
    • Sound quality was not the best.

XP-Pen DEC C003 Digital Drawing Tablet Review

We instantly liked the sleek design of the XP-Pen.

When we turned on the tablet and got to using, we liked how sensitive the stylus was.

This allowed us to create much finer detailed images. It also responded well to pressure.

Another feature we liked was it could easily be used by both right-hand and left-hand users.

The main drawback was that it was not very effective at connecting to the MacBook.

We also had an issue using the entire surface of the tablet.

    The Good
    • Simple to use.
    • Sensitive stylus.
    • Sleek and attractive design.
    The Bad
    • Not effective at connecting to the MacBook

HUION INSPIROY Q11 Digital Graphic Drawing Tablet

The Huion looks super stylish and comes in a neat and well-designed package.

Charging was also quite efficient and fast especially compared to the Simbans PiccassoTab Multi-Purpose Graphics Tablet.

We were eager to find out how the tablet performed and quickly learned that it was very simple to use. The settings are easy to follow.

The stylus pen was another thing that we enjoyed with the tablet. It is highly sensitive and produces very minimal drag.

The tablet is also lightweight and has a decent sized drawing area. The sketches came out good.

The main drawback that we found had to do with the weight.

At nearly 2 kilos, this is not the lightest drawing tablet especially if you are getting it for your child.

    The Good
    • Simple to use.
    • High quality and neat design.
    • Stylus pen is very sensitive.
    The Bad
    • It is a bit heavy.

HUION 1060 PLUS Digital Graphics Drawing Tablet

The 1060 plus came with an 8GB SD card which meant even more storage space for our work.

We also liked the build which we found to be quite strong and sturdy.

There was no flexing and similar to the GAOMON M106K Professional Drawing Graphic Tablet, we could place it on the lap and still continue to use it effectively.

However, it’s a bit too sensitive with the stylus pen.

The software seemed to only work on one screen when we set multiple screens on Mac.

The rotational control also seemed to not work effectively.

    The Good
    • Sturdy.
    • Lightweight.
    • Has a large working surface.
    The Bad
    • Stylus pen is a bit too sensitive.
    • Doesn’t work well on multiple screens.
    • Rotational control isn’t the best.

Wacom Intuos Small Graphic Drawing Tablet Review

The main thing that we liked with the Wacom Intuos was how quick and simple it was to connect to the computer.

We also liked that it was very well made and came with a stylish design and found that it was compatible with the major graphics software.

However, the settings were not as clear and straightforward as with the Grandbeing LCD Drawing Tablet.

Also, when we wanted to magnify the image that we were working on, we found that it lacked a pinch to zoom function.

This took its functionality down a level.

    The Good
    • Simple to connect to the PC.
    • Lightweight.
    The Bad
    • Settings were not very simple.
    • Lacked a pinch to zoom function.

Parblo Island A610s Graphic Drawing Tablet Review

We liked that the Parblo came with a strong and sturdy build unlike what we found with the Grandbeing LCD Drawing Tablet.

When we turned on the tablet to use it for the first time, we also noted that it was very simple to use.

The settings were clear and straightforward and the stylus pen moved freely and easily.

However, there were some drawbacks. The stylus pen required you to use it lightly since too much pressure created a screeching sound.

Second, you will need to charge the pen which we found to be quite inconvenient at times and the cable was also fairly short.

    The Good
    • Simple to use.
    • Strong and sturdy frame.
    The Bad
    • Stylus pen produced a screeching noise when pressed too hard.
    • The charging cable is short.

GAOMON M106K Professional Drawing Graphic Tablet

We liked that the GAOMAN was very simple to use. The surface is medium sized and we liked that the Stylus pen would respond in milliseconds.

We also found that this tablet comes in a rigid and sturdy build which prevented flexing and made it possible to sketch when placing it on the lap.

It is lightweight and the buttons are easily programmable. And that’s not all, the GAOMON is compatible with both left-hand and right-hand users.

On the other hand, connecting to the PC wasn’t the simplest task and sometimes we needed to reinstall the drivers whenever we restarted the computer.

    The Good
    • Looks good.
    • Simple to use.
    • Rigid frame.
    • Lightweight.
    The Bad
    • Wasn’t the easiest to connect with the computer.

Ugee M708 Graphic Drawing Tablet Review

The first thing we noticed with the Ugee M708 is the large surface. This allowed us free arm movement for the best sketching.

We also enjoyed how sensitive the stylus pen was especially with applied pressure. The stylus pen also comes with spare nibs.

However, we found that the tip of the pen wiggles which is not something we particularly liked.

We also noted that once connected to the PC, it wasn’t very simple to switch between the first and the second monitor.

    The Good
    • Large surface.
    • Sensitive stylus pen.
    The Bad
    • The stylus pen tip wiggles at the tip.
    • Switching between first and second monitor is not very easy.

HUION H420 Graphic Drawing Tablet Review

The HUION H240 is a very effective drawing tablet as we came to find out. It was simple to use and offered plenty of diversity.

Not only were we able to use it to sketch but we found that it was very effective at scrolling web pages and functions as a mouse.

The second thing that we liked with this tablet is we could conveniently connect it to the computer and use it with all the major graphics software such as Adobe Illustrator and CorelDraw.

Unlike the HUION INSPIROY Q11 Digital Graphic Drawing Tablet, it is also quite lightweight.

We, however, didn’t like the size of the screen.

It is a bit small which means that it didn’t perform very well when we needed to draw larger and more detailed images.

It also takes a lot of time to install and set up the drivers.

    The Good
    • Lightweight.
    • Simple to use.
    • Works effectively as a mouse.
    The Bad
    • Quite small.
    • Installing drivers takes time.

    Grandbeing LCD Drawing Tablet Review

This graphics tablet is even larger than the Simbans PiccassoTab Multi-Purpose Graphics Tablet at 12 inches.

Apart from the extra-large writing area, we found that it was quite lightweight and simple to carry.

It was very simple and convenient to draw using the Grandbeing.

Unlike former versions that required you to run a slide to erase any mistakes, with this model, you simply do that with the press of a button.

We found that the large size came in handy as we could use the tablet as a measuring tool.

The main drawback was that it didn’t come with a strong and sturdy build. It seemed flimsy.

Second, we found that the clear button could easily be pressed by accident which means that it will erase everything.

    The Good
    • Large writing area.
    • Lightweight.
    • Simple to use.
    The Bad
    • Looked flimsy.
    • Easy to press the clear button by exercise.
