Twitter isn’t just for social networking, it’s also the best way to get your blog posts indexed within minutes to the search engines. I’ve officially tried every WordPress plugin for tweeting posts when you hit publish and found the best one. Wordtwit is it, and like most plugins it’s free.

I tried Twitoaster, and everytime I used it there would be a mountain of “spam” comments created by the resulting tweet. It wasn’t a spammer, it was the program itself receiving the tweet and kept constantly reposting to the blog. Deleting these got old so I bailed.

Compared to a static web page which can take weeks or months to index, there’s just no beating it.

Some people have a separate Twitter account just for this purpose, and another that they use for business updates or goofing around socially.
