Survey Scout is a website which offers the chance to to earn money by taking surveys. Survey Scout claims you can earn $5-$75 for online surveys, up to $150 an hour for participating in focus groups, phone surveys can bring in as much as $120 an hour, $4-$25 an hour for previewing new movie trailers or the chance to try and keep new products.

Survey Scout has a one time fee of $34.95, and for that fee you are supposed to have access to a private members only website containing over 450 survey opportunities.

As is the case with other survey sites, I found many different postings claiming that the survey lists provided for $34.95 from Survey Scout only provided surveys that entered a person in a drawing and didn’t actually pay anything, another huge complaint is that the individual became buried in e-mails and telemarketing phone calls as their information was then released.

One individual went to so far as to claim that with the personal checking information provided, 2 AOL accounts were opened without this person’s knowledge or authorization resulting in 2 charges of $23 for the AOL accounts.

In my opinion, it is very difficult to earn a living filling out surveys, one is better off doing the surveys for fun and perhaps a little money and avoid services like Survey Scout that charge a fee for their list.
