Just this morning on the phone with one of several who like my self followed Robert Allen's foreclosure buying techniques in markets they specifically recommend. In particular Detroit, at the time EWI's No. 1 recommended market to buy foreclosures and rent. Jeff Schnitter lead the course and proclaimed he was personally investing aggressively in Detroit, don't be one of the moobaa's right Jeff. Did the field training with Jason Kennedy which means we identified properties, did market analysis, wrote offers all with the direct assistance of EWI coaches. The whole business model and information EWI presented was so far from real world that they must have known, they were "investing themselves" after all. I personally know of more that five people who have filed bankruptcy as a result of directly following the instructors and coaches of EWI. EWI even had a table set up in back with "credit experts" to assist, those foolish enough, to open several credit cards and use the cash advance to purchase properties. Stay as far away as you can from Robert Allen's schemes, his "enlightened wealth institute" (morbidly funny), and any thing this carnival barker is selling. I believe he should be in jail for the wake of financial destruction he leaves behind.

As with most of the information sold by these "gurus", I believe it's primarily up to the buyer to have the ability to use and apply it. I bought Allens book back in the 90's and was able to buy 3 houses with no money down and even made 3k at one closing. It takes the buyers ability to take out what they need and apply it to be successful, and it's certainly possible. The info in his course is easily worth the 100 bucks or what ever it costs these days.
