A merchant account is the single most important thing anyone can get when starting an internet business. It has been estimated that a business that accepts credit cards will take in approximately 85% more money than businesses that don’t accept credit cards. And it’s so easy to get approved for your own merchant account that I don’t know why anyone would choose not to get one.
85% of your customers have either a Visa, Master Card, American Express Card, or Discover Card that they want to pay you with. I am one of the founders of this company and I personally started my first internet business in the garage of my parents house when I was only 23 years old. I wanted to be able to accept credit cards but for some odd reason I just thought that was out of my league.
I thought that was something only big giant businesses could do. I thought my little tiny joke of a business in the garage was too small to accept credit cards. Wrong!!! Then a good friend of mine who happened to be a businessman told me something that changed my business, my life, and my income for ever! He said “It’s not that your business is too small to bother accepting credit cards. “The reason your business is so small is because you don’t accept credit cards. “If you get a merchant account and start accepting credit cards your business will grow to be a big business.”
Well, I figured why not? I realized he was right. Part of the reason all big businesses turned into big businesses is because they offer their customers a variety of payment options including payment by credit card. So I simply called up a merchant company and asked for an application. The application was simple and 2 days after I returned it, I was approved to accept credit cards. They sent me my own website address where my customers could pay for my products online using their credit card.
After my customers went to my website and paid with their credit card, the money came directly from their card right into my checking account at my local bank. This was done right through my merchant account! This was amazing! People from all over the world were typing their 16 digit credit card number into my website and money was pouring directly into my bank account! If you haven’t yet experienced this feeling, you are in for a big treat!
On a good day, three thousand dollars would come in at my website and go right into my checking account! And remember, I’m only 23 at that time and living and working out of my parents garage! When I first started my little business in the garage, it really was practically a joke.
I was taking in about $35 per day. It’s a good thing I lived with my parents, cause $35 dollars a day doesn’t pay the bills. In fact it was that small income that forced me to continue living at my parents house. But soon after accepting credit cards, I found out it’s true: The only way to make serious cash on the internet is with a merchant account.
EVERYBODY ON THE INTERNET WANTS TO PAY BY CREDIT CARD!
Soon after accepting credit cards, my little measly $35.00 a day had turned into an average of $2,000.00 per day! Now I had a big business! As you can guess, I moved from the garage to an office. Plus I bought 2 houses with my profits!
These days people that know me consider me highly successful. And sometimes people ask me how it all started. I know I am a fairly smart guy, but my business went through the roof the day I started letting people pay by credit card at my website. Yes, the only way to make serious cash on the internet is with a merchant account.
After shopping around, there’s just one place I recommend (and they don’t pay me to do it) and it’s Merchant Service Today. They got me %1.47 for retail transactions and %1.95 for Internet purchases with 8 cents per transaction. Virtually all other places were over 3 percent for Internet, which is of course the only kind I do. Even if another place paid me, I wouldn’t recommend one with rates 50 percent higher than them. Thier number is 800-715-8053.
