Kevin Trudeau a name I personally don’t trust. Like millions of other Americans, I have good reason not to trust Kevin Trudeau. The FTC ordered him to immediately stop his deceptive and false advertising techniques. Kevin Trudeau produced various products and systems including such items as: “Hair Farming,” “Mega Memory System,” “An Addiction Breaking System,” “Action Reading System,” “Eden’s Secret,” and “The Mega Reading System”
Kevin Trudeau along with his Infomercial producer Mega Systems International, Inc., and its principal, Jeffrey Salberg were each required to pay thousands of dollars in consumer redress. Consumer redress is like a fine that gives customers that are taken advantage of their money back plus in some cases, damages.
Kevin Trudeau was at one time a big name in info-mercials and enjoyed utilizing a deceptive infomercial style that made his infomercials look more like news interviews and the long commercials that they actually were. The FTC also ordered Kevin Trudeau to stop using this deceptive info-mercial tactic. The goal of Kevin Trudeau was to make all of his advertising look like pure news that was not paid for or trying to sell anything.
He new that people often change the channel when hard selling info-mercials come on, so he tried to make his infomercials look as close to a regular entertaining television show as possible. Kevin Trudeau is part of the reason you now see notices like “The following is a paid advertisement and this channel does not necessarily agree with or endorse any of their products” Kevin Trudeau is one of the reasons we all now see such disclaimers at the beginning of all informercials.
In my opinion the name Kevin Trudeau will always be associated with fraud, lies, deception, and false advertising. I personally would have nothing to do with him or his products. Obviously I don’t recommend anything produced by Kevin Trudeau.

Unfortunately Trudeau is still at it and is hiding behind the first amendment to shield his new criminal enterprise–’books.’ People purchasing these ‘books’ usually find their debit and credit cards billed several times and Trudeau also sells their information to telemarketers and spammers. The real problem lies in enforcement of consumer protection laws which were seriously weakened during GOP rule in the 90′s and put simply, the laws have no teeth and criminals like Trudeau simply consider the small fines imposed as a cost of doing business. In most countries Trudeau would have been put in prison where he belongs a long time ago!
It’s true, as long as makes more than his fines and legal fees Trudeau will keep it up. If I’m not mistaken those fines might even be tax deductible as a business expense, which if true would provide even more incentive to pull stunts like his current book. Anything on TV is always about the upsell. Nobody could make money buying $400,000 media buys to sell a $20 book. When ITV ventures started selling his products I knew they were doomed, and sure enough last year they went out of business. I see he learned from Jeff Paul by putting a Playboy Playmate in a low cut dress on the infomercial to wonder at his wisdom… Oh brother.
This guy is the worst I can think of. I don’t understand how he is able to continue to “sell” junk on tv. It is hard to think that with all of the economic issues we have in this Country that “we” can allow this person to bamboozle us with Grant $ and Mind Altering techniques…
Isn’t there some sort of agency that helps protect people from people like this? Jail time(I wish) seems like the only way to keep this type of unethical practice from continuing. I can’t say enough about how hard it is to see him continue to PUSH people by making unsubstantiated claims over and over. Ugghhhh…
