Selling the Invisible by Harry Beckwith

Harry Beckwith is the author of “Selling the Invisible : A Field Guide to Modern Marketing”

This book is more about the service and customer relationship side of business than about marketing itself, or concentrating on tangible goods. Reviews on Amazon were very polarized, usually getting either one star or five, with very few people landing in the middle. The negative reviews mainly said it was too vague, with hundreds of anecdotes and short stories and no real information. Also that it tries to cover such a broad topic that it really doesn’t explain any one thing well enough to be useful. The positive ones were glowing, stressing Harry Beckwith has “real world” advice that they could relate to. Most people reported finishing this 250 page book in one sitting due to it’s easy to read format. Several found it in their local libraries, and even at it’s $15 selling price, might not be a bad investment despite some very negative reviews. In short, it’s going to be a book you’ll either love or hate.
