Some of you may already have a talent for writing headlines that are powerful, shocking, unbelievable, and make the reader curious. But many of you will hate writing ads and wish there was a better way to get good ad copy and headlines. Whether you hate writing ad copy or not, you should always keep a “Swipe File” to look at for help. What is a swipe file? And how do you make one? Swipe files are what the name implies. They are your list of great headlines you swiped from ads in your favorite magazines or newspapers. Yes, you should be thumbing through magazines and newspapers to study the various ads and swipe the good ones so you can refer to them later when you need to come up with an ad.
Often times, the best headlines are already written, so why waste all your time coming up with new ones? The more time you spend on the internet and reading business ads in magazines, the more great ads you’ll come across. At least once a day, I see an ad that sucks me in, grabs my full attention and gets me to respond. I then study that ad to see exactly why it got me so interested. Was it shocking? Unbelievable? Strange? Exciting? Or did it just make you curious? What was it about that ad that was so good? That’s when I take the headline from that ad and copy and paste it or write it down in my “Swipe File” so I can refer to it later when I need a good headline for an ad I’m submitting.
You can even copy your favorite parts of the body of the ad and put those pieces in your swipe file as well. You’ll come to love your swipe file, especially if you’re not great at writing your own ads. Some times when I’m really experiencing writers block and I need an ad ASAP, but I just can’t come up with anything good, my swipe file becomes like a good buddy. I just pull out my swipe file and grab something that I already know has been published and got great results. I feel much better about spending money on advertising when I’m extremely confident in my ads and you will too.
As you really dig deeper into this course, you’ll find that in the next few chapters I’m going to be teaching you some internet marketing techniques that are focused purely online. And as you know, the fact they’re online makes my techniques very easy to track and calculate your conversion rates(how many sales you’re making per advertising dollar you’re spending.) Just 2 of those techniques coming up in chapter 4 are worth the price of this course alone. In fact once you see the results from just those 2 techniques, you’ll agree this course is easily worth $750.00. I say that because just those 2 techniques have managed to make me up to $755.00 a day while doing very little work!
