William J McCorkel is currently serving a 24 year prison sentence. You may remember his informercial showing him, his pretty wife and his Lear jet he got at auction. On his infomercials, he would tell the viewers how much money they could make at auctions. He said you could get products for pennies because nobody else ever showed up at most auctions. In my opinion, Tom Vu was a scamster whose late night antics on cable TV provided much amusement for those of us with three-digit IQs. He pitched “no money down” real estate in infomercials that looked like half circus and half playboy mansion. (more…)

Survey Scout is a website which offers the chance to to earn money by taking surveys. Survey Scout claims you can earn $5-$75 for online surveys, up to $150 an hour for participating in focus groups, phone surveys can bring in as much as $120 an hour, $4-$25 an hour for previewing new movie trailers or the chance to try and keep new products. Survey Platinum is a paid survey site that claims to be able to provide earnings of $5-$10 for online paid surveys, up to $250 for being part of a team focus group or up to $100 for telephone surveys, as well as opportunities to try new products with payment for your opinion, or the chance to get paid to read e-mails or drive a car.
