Judgment Recovery is a business where you attempt to collect unpaid civil or small claims judgments and of course keep a portion of the collected amount, or pay the person due the judgment a set price for the right to pursue the claim. Some reports show that 80 percent of judgments go uncollected and there are no current licensing requirements but certain states have been showing opinions from banking or bar associations that anyone doing it should be a licensed collection agency (couldn’t find any legal challenges though) or that the person should buy the claim for a set amount up front. John Cash Locke
John Cash Locke’s trademark phrase is “Invest the Cash Now Way”. He invites you to become a member of the “Cash Now family”, and he puts dollar signs around his adopted middle name, so that it’s written out as “$Cash$”.
These are the kind of things that make me suspicious about a person who’s supposedly selling a serious concept – how and when to risk your money (and/or credit rating) on buying real estate. It seems to me that John Cash Locke is flashing the dollar sign as often as possible, so that you’ll get dollar signs lighting up in your unconscious mind. And he’s putting across the image of a cozy family, so that you feel warm and safe and important. It may work on some people, but it makes me want to run for the hills.
Cash Locke’s best-known products as a real estate guru are his training manual, “Big Bucks Bird Dogging” (This contains 7 CDs which you get for $689.00 at the time of this writing), and his e-book, “Subject To, That’s What I Do” (About fifty bucks for this one). John Cash Locke also runs investment seminars, and has used the materials from these to produce a Sub To Training Course.
Cash Locke’s background ranges from co-ownership of radio and television stations, advertising, casino operations, and marketing and sales in different industries.
John Cash Locke has often criticized other investment gurus claiming every other week somebody has discovered a “new and better way” to buy houses. He seems to be saying it’s all a big game. But John Cash Locke doesn’t explain why he’s not part of the game. He seems to be playing in the middle of the game with all the other gurus.
John Carlton
John Carlton has been around for a very long time. Yet he seems to be a mystery man to most people. It’s probably because for nearly 20 years, he’s been quietly churning out the best ad copy man kind has ever seen all while sitting behind a desk.
Yes, John Carlton has been behind the scenes of some of the greatest marketing campaigns in advertising history. But until recently, he purposely remained fairly anonymous and (more…)
John Behle
John Behle has plenty of happy customers who say he produces good stuff without any fluff. Some of it’s a bit on the heavy side though and is not like the “For Dummies” books. This is hardcore stuff he’s putting out. His material has been said to be more like a PhD in “paper” than a user-friendly guide. This is a serious minded guy: “intensive” is just the right word for his course. So if you’re dead serious about this business, you might have found the right guy.
Behle’s knowledge of making money with paper has been packaged into an advanced training program about investing in notes which last about 5 days. John Behle also uses his website to market a set of videos of his live 5-day course, called “The Paper Game”. The package includes 28 hours of advice on 14 video tapes, with a 300 page manual, plus all his books. It sells for around four hundred bucks.
Yes, John Behle has found his place in business as an educator and practitioner in discounted paper investment, with over twenty years in the business. He’s written hundreds of articles on the subject and several books, including “The Paper Game”, “Mortgage Magic” and “Creative Paper Formulas.”
But whatever your opinion, you can’t buy any of John Behle’s products or attend his live training courses right now. At time of writing (April 2005), Mr. Behle was recovering from open heart surgery and not doing any seminars. His books and home study materials were also off the market, being revised. I wish John a speedy recovery. I still think he’s in a tough business though. I wouldn’t want to touch that type of business with a ten foot pole. But then again, I’m not a real estate guru like he is. It’s just not my thing.
John Beck's Free & Clear Real Estate System
Once upon a time there was an infomercial on TV spouting off about buying tax delinquent homes at 1-2 cents on a dollar. This program was called “John Beck’s Free & Clear Real Estate System” In the program, he shows that you can get wealthy off the backs of poor homeowners who’ve had their property taxed right out from under them.
